Edward waits for Friday

candle It is dark and I am sitting waiting for the door to open and one of the humans to come in. Sometimes they do not want me, I have to wait and wait for a day called Friday.

Last Friday the door opened and I recognised the sound of the humans who look after me. The one called Jennifer picked me up, hooray time for me to go outside of my little house and see the little humans The place outside is called a church. The room is very big and in the middle are a circle of chairs sometimes I sit on one, at other times I sit on the piano, the candles on the table are alight.

A big oak door opens and in come the little humans, one comes and picks me up buggy and gives me a hug, oh how lovely ..... more little humans come in, some in pushchairs with their own humans called mummies or grannies and sometimes daddies. The humans wait for the person called ANGELA to say something and all the little humans pick up a ‘musical shake thing’ and make a lot of noise. They sing and make a nice sound. children's group Then they put coloured blanket on the floor and the little humans sit down, I like to sit on the floor having a cuddle with the little people.

On this Friday my friend Mac has come with his human called Sue to tell the story. Mac is asleep, he wakes up after the little humans call his name and his human opens the book .This week the story** is all about a daddy in a hurry who does not stop to kiss his son goodnight, he Mac blows a kiss and it misses, then the man who is a King sends someone called a knight to bring back the kiss and his adventures, it all ends happy ever after.

Today Mac had a big bag with him and the little humans chose one item out of the bag to put in a shoebox ..... a bar of soap; a soft toy; a warm scarf; a pad of paper; a set of felt tips; a nice flannel; a toothbrush.

Shoebox The shoebox has Christmas paper all over it and it is going to be a present for a little human a long way away. We hear that a big lorry will take lots of boxes to the children, some of them might not have mummies and daddies, and others might be very poor and not have the nice things that we have.

we put lots of kisses in the box, Paul the human (he is the Vicar) who comes into my house a lot, speaks ..... this is called a prayer and we tell Jesus about the children who do not have things like us and we say thank you to Jesus for our mummies and daddies, our food and toys and all the kisses we are given. We say a prayer for Pennie who is usually with us but she is poorly, get well soon Pennie we miss you.

Edward Bear The little humans are singing and when it is time to go they sing Shalom. Oh they are going ..... Oh dear time for me to go back to my special place until next time, such a life for a big brown bear ..... I hope Friday comes again soon!

See you next Friday
Bye-Bye
