There are exciting times ahead for the ancient Priory Church of St. Mary the Virgin South Hayling as momentum begins to build up ahead of the reordering programme for the church. We want this church to be a church that is here to serve the community… offering its space to accommodate not only our church services, but also new ways of expressing our spirituality.
In addition we anticipate hosting other events such as concerts, exhibitions, school participation etc. This all takes time but things have now started moving! In the mean time, below are some of the forthcoming events, to which all are welcome.
St. Mary’s choir will be singing Choral Evensong in Portsmouth Cathedral on Saturday 6th September at 5:00pm.
Patronal Festival, Sunday 7th September.
Dedication of Stone in Garden of Peace – Saturday 20th September at 10:30am followed by refreshments in church hall.
St. Mary’s Community Spirit Appeal in aid of the reordering of the church. The first major event will be a performance by ‘Out of the Shadows’ one of the top tribute bands in England, which brings to life the classic pop music of the early sixties. They will be performing at Hayling College on Saturday 18th October. Doors open at 7.pm. Click here for details.
